  • Customer said that their virus scan detected 2 viruses in the do
wnloaded file

Their virus checker (McAfee) finds a virus in de file rsa4sw.upd
ate.disk3.zip.
When McAfee Anti-virus running virus scan on one of the download
able file related to Rational Software Architect for WebSphere S
oftware 7.5.3, there are two files being identified as virus.

Here is the affected downloadable file:
http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/v
75/rsa4ws/753/zips/rsa4ws753.update.disk3.zip

It complains about Desktop_1.ini and Desktop_2.ini packed inside
 file file000269 of rsa4sw753.update.disk3.zip under .\disk3\ad\
plugins.

Problem conclusion


    

  • It has been confirmed that the downloadable file does not
contain any virus.  The Desktop_1.ini and Desktop_2.ini are
text file, and it only contain timestamp inside it and will
not cause any security risk in user's machine.

To avoid confusion, we will have the package update in 754
release.
