    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that contains this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
When a JAX-WS web service is deployed using "/" as context
root, the web services runtime doesn't parse the request URL
correctly. This causes errors in following situations:

    (1) A service client cannot access the service because the
request URL is parsed incorrectly before dispatching.

    (2) Users cannot access generated WSDL file using
http://host:port/Service?WSDL because the URL is parsed
    incorrectly.

The exact error seen will vary depending on the nature of the
operation being invoked, but will generally indicate that the
WSDL could not be generated or found, or the service could not
    be found.

Problem conclusion

  • The web services runtime is fixed to parse the URLs correctly
when default context root ("/") is used.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.29. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
