Error description

  • ISSUE:
Import Assets from existing TestManager Project does not import
    the scripts
    ENVIRONMENT:
    Robot 7.0.2.02 WITHOUT TestManager.
You import a project in version 7.0.1 into IBM Rational Robot
version 7.0.2.02. The computer where you import the project has
Robot 7.0.2.02, but has not TM.
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
The import function in the Robot Project Administrator should
    import all scripts
    OBTAINED RESULTS:
The file system does not contain the imported scripts.
The Open Script dialog box does not display scripts.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Create a TestManager project in version 7.0.1 or use an existing
    project.
Login into a computer that has Robot 7.0.2.2 but NOT
    TestManager.
    Open Robot in StandAlone mode.
In the Select Project window click Manage to open the Robot
    Project Administrator.
Highlight Projects, then richt-click Import Assets from
    TestManager Project.
Browse to your Rational Suite Project, that means the
    TestManager project. Then click New.
Fill out a project name and a path. The path is an empty folder.
Choose the default settings and wait until the import has
    finished.
Highlight the newly imported project, then click OK to open the
    new project.
In the Robot user interface click File > Open > Script ...
Observe that you cannot select a script for opening.
    OTHER TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:
    Reproduced in-house.
The import works if you have TM installed.
The import works too without TM if you upgrade the assets in
    RAdmin.
You cannot upgrade the assets in RAdmin without TM installed.
Then you get the following error:
Unable to upgrade. Failed to get exclusive access to the
Datastore. Please have all users log out and try again.
    WORKAROUND
    No workaround

  • No code change required. Proivded the following information
to the customer waiting for confirmation.

Following are the steps to import earlier TM project into
Robot 703. Simiilar steps can be followed for Robot 7022 and
    earlier version of TM

TM has been declared EOL. Robot 703 cannot be installed
    with earlier TM version.
    Solution to this problem.
TM 7022 or earlier version is already installed on a machine
    say A.
Install Robot 703 on a different machine say B.

On machine B do the following
    Create a new standalone project.
Goto manage projects while starting Robot.
Then right click and select Import Assets from Test Manager
    project
This will popup Import Assets dialog box.
select the TM ,rsp file for the Rational suite project using
UNC path or by mapping a drive to machine A on which TM
    project resides.
select the newly created standalone .project file for the
    Robot project file
    Press ok.
Now your TM projects from machine A has been imported as
    standalone project in machine B.

Now you can use machine B itself. If you are particular
about using machine A do the following on machine A.
Rename the project directory of TM project.
    Uninstall TM
    Install Robot 703.
Select existing project as standalone project form machine B
(which was newly created and imported the TM project).
