Error description

  • Type .java files do not open in ClearCase diff/merge editor desp
    ite this option being selected in CCRC preferences. They are ope
    ned in the Eclipse diff/merge editor instead.

    When a diff/merge is performed for a .java file type and the CC
    diff/merge editor is specified in Team ? ClearCase Remote Client
     ? Editor/Workspace, the CC diff/merge editor is used
    
    ?Actual?
    For just .java file types this option setting is ignored and the
     IDE (Eclipse) merge editor is used.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • he check for modeling file type was incorrect in the
    com.ibm.xtools.comparemerge.refectivemergefacade plug-in.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in release RSx 754.
    
    Excludes the java file from modeling file types.
