Error description

  • IBM PowerPlay 8.4 Client remote connection to cube lost after
    ~30 minutes when idling
    

Local fix

  • Increase the idle time out value in the powerplayservice.xml
    file to a value large enough for the report to complete running.
    In this case around 2 hours = 7200 secs.

Problem conclusion

  • In the initial Colorado release of PowerPlay Client and PowerPla
    y Studio - version 10.1 - this problem is resolved, however idle
     time-out settings in the PowerPlay Administration - idle time-o
    ut on a Package - may have to be increased in order to accomodat
    e long running queries.
