Error description

  • Renaming a java classes using the refactoring with 'update refer
    ences' cause an exception

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When performing a Refactor-Rename operation on a Java
    compilation unit, a NullPointerException or
ClassCastException is logged. A messages is displayed to the
user saying that a refactoring participant was disabled.
This did not prevent the refactoring from continuing, but
did present an extra, possibly annoying, dialog each time
    they performed this refactoring.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix delivered in Rational Application Developer V7.5.2

Temporary fix
