Error description

  • Creating JPA entity beans from tables with synonyms and without
    foreign key gets:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: invalid DTP column: com.ibm.
    datatools.oracle.catalog.OracleCatalogColumn

Local fix

Problem summary

  • While creating any JPA entity it throws a DTP column error
for the tables having synonyms and no foreign key. This
happens because the product does not check the version of
the oracle database, and hence assigns data types which are
    not present in Oracle 8i.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix delivered in Rational Application Developer V7.5.2
