• Environment:

  Reproducible Y/N: Y
  Description of problem:
  when using the EGL Data Access Application wizard to import tabl
  e
  definitions from a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 RDBMS and Oracle. S
  ome of the columns
  in the tables selected contained spaces in the column names.
  
  
  
  When looking at the generated EGL source for the SQLRecords, it
  is noted that
  the field names generated in the record also contained spaces, m
  aking
  them invalid field names. The DataItems created for the columns
  also
  contained spaces; again invalid EGL.
  Step to reproduce:
  a. created a table in database, with a column 'column 1' and 'co
  lumn 2'
  b. in RBD ?new project ? EGL Data Access Application ?
  
  c. followed the wizard, selected the table, selected the 2 check
  boxes
  that are been in my attachment screenshot.
  
  d. after wizard is been completed, I did have errors because wiz
  ard has
  created fields with spaces
  Workaround:
   I modified ?DataDefinitions.egl? by removing the spaces to the
  
  fields.
  
  
  
  example:
  
  dataitem column1 INT end
  
  dataitem column2 VAR end
  
  
  
  and also modified in EGL sources by removing the spaces and the
  error is gone.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When the Data Access Application wizard was used to create
  EGL code from a database table, and the name of a column in
  that table contained spaces, the EGL code it created was
  invalid.  The spaces of the column's name were not being
  removed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The wizard will now remove the spaces.
