Error description

  • EGL ZOSBATCH main program calls an EGL called program repeatedly
. After many calls there is a memory
allocation failure reported in module ELAMEM.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • If the user had set the initIORecordOnCall and
initNonIODataOnCall build descriptor options to yes, this
would cause the re-initialization of the memory area on each
invocation of the called program. This caused the heap
acquire of the 4 basic fields to be done repetitively,
without reusing the memory slot for the acquire. This in
turn caused the heap memory manager to obtain more and more
memory, until the abend occurred. A heap drop is now done
    prior to the acquire.

Problem conclusion

  • Software fixed. Fixtest EGLFixtest200901161217 is available
    on the portal.
