Error description

  • Client migrating from VAGen EGL to RBD V7.1 has seen a performan
ce issue for the generated COBOL Runtime. EGL Programs up 65 tim
es the CPU compared to native COBOL

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • Significant performance improvements have been made to
function invocation, which is what the defect was referring
to. EGL V7 was already faster than VAG when 1 or more
arguments were being used, but was much slower for no args.
Important improvements have been made to all function
invocations.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Software updated in 7103 and 7512.
