Error description

• Using Crystal Reports bundled with Rational Application Develope
  r V6011.
  
  Using JRC XI Release I to display Cyrstal Reports report over th
  e web.
  The report has Chinese characters. The report displays fine in t
  he web browser, with Chinese characters.
  
  However, the PDF export of the report does not display.
  Viewing the PDF appears to require the Chinese locale on the mac
  hine.
  
  Business Object Support (case #: 302873812)
  - The current and past version of the JRC exports to PDF with in
  dexed fonts
  - i.e, it does not embed/subset the font glyphs in the PDF itsel
  f.
  - This restricts the viewability of the PDF with Chinese charact
  ers.
  Current workaround:
    1. Chinese locale is used on machine where the pdf is viewed.
   OR
    2. Adobe Reader Asian language pack is installed.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

• Fix delivered in Rational Application Developer V7006.
  Or available from Business Objects as patch update to
  Crystal Reports for Eclipse
