PK53269: PORTLETS ARE NOT RENDERED PROPERLY IN WEB BROWSER AFTER RUN ON S ERVER

Error description

• Using Rational Application Server V7, depending on the sequence
  of operations, right-clicking a portlet project and then selecti
  ng Run as -- Run on server does not display the select portlet i
  n the Web browser:
  Scenario:
  1. Create a new Portal project.
  2. Perform Run on Server using Portal Server V6.0
  3. Create  a new Portlet project and choose to perform Run On Se
  rver.
  4. Select the same server config which was used in step2.
  5. In Run On Server wizard remove the other associated projects
  with the server config.
  6. Click Finish
  Actual Result:
  Web browser shows the Portal page of previous publish and the po
  rtlet is not rendered i.e Rational Portlets page. Logout and rel
  ogin to portal doesn't solves this. The projects associated in p
  revious Run On Server operations are not removed from server con
  fig.
  If you perform Run On Server for a portlet first and then any Po
  rtal project, Portal project is rendered properly but portlet is
   not disassociated from server config.
  Expected Result:
  1) Portlets should be rendered properly in Web browser.
  2) The projects selected to be removed in Run On Server wizard s
  hould be disassociated from server.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Publishing was skipped when there was any change in jsp file
  in portlet module.
  

Problem conclusion

• XML access request need to be sent even when publishing is
  skipped.
  Fix delivered in Rational Application Developer V7005.
