Error description

  • With the IBM JSF inputRichText control the value attribute
    does not return the empty string when the editor is empty:

    <r:inputRichText id=richText value=#{form.richText}>
    </r:inputRichText>

    After adding styled text to the control, and then deleting the
    text, when a Submit is pressed the value of the inputRichText
    is not the empty string as expected, but rather contains HTML
    tags such as:

    <P>&nbsp;</P>

    Other sequences of edits can leave different tags behind, making
    it very difficult to test programmatically whether or not the
    control has any text in it or not.
