Error description

  • Application Server Toolkit 6.1.0.1 / Websphere Application
    Server 6.0.1.2 - Unable able to deploy a bean when the target
    EJB projects have an URI that places the beans in a directory of
    the EAR (i.e. lib in this customer's case).

Local fix

  • Move the EJB jar files to the root of the EAR and update the
    application XML to point to the root.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unable to generate the deployment *
    * code for EJBs that have a directory *
    *                      in the application.xml uri reference    *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If an application contains EJB modules that reference each
    other and these EJB modules are added to the Enterprise
    Application in a directory (i.e. the uri value in the
    application.xml contains a directory) then the classpath
    values for each EJB module will be incorrect, causing code
    generation to fail. For more information, see:
    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=160562
