Error description

  • When compiling an application with the INLINE and
HGPR(NOPRESERVE) compiler options, an internal compiler error is
encountered:


   SEVERE ERROR CCN1104: Internal error while compiling function
   <function_name>.  GRARNN: gr3754 is used before it is
   defined.  Compilation terminated.


The issue is triggered by using larger than default INLINE
suboptions, for example:


   INLINE(AUTO,REPORT,1000,100000)


When compiling with the LIST option, the following error may be
seen in the LIST output:


   GRARNN: gr3754 used before defined gr3754 at:
   16027:      UDIV8    *gr7019,*gr7018=gr9770,gr7015,gr3754

Local fix

  • Lower the INLINE threshold value:

   INLINE(AUTO,REPORT,100,10000)
