APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When SonarLint for Eclipse is installed on top of IBM Developer
for z Systems - IDz - v14.0.0.6 then the integration is
automatically enabled and can lead to multiple downloads of the
same copybooks.
These unexpected extra downloads can increase the CPU
consumption on the host.

Local fix

  • Uninstall SonarLint for Eclipse if the integration
in IDz is not used.

Problem summary

  • Our SonarLint integration code was requesting information from
IDz core on behalf of SonarLint which resulting in an excessive
number of copybook downloads

Problem conclusion

  • This fix makes use of cacheing to minimize the number of time
information is requested from IDz and also makes use of
alternative strategies for obtaining information such as using a
 local resource's path to find the IDz resource in the local
model rather than asking IDz to locate the resource on the host.

A second fix is being made in IDz core to further reduce the
number of copybook downloads
