APAR status

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) v14.0.0.5, using the COBOL
    editor, a valid syntax error may disappear after saving changes
    in the file.
    
    The same issue exists in IDz v14.0.0.6 and IDz v14.1.
    

Local fix

  • Edit the COBOL source with zSystems LPEX editor
    

Problem summary

  • In some situations, IDz's COBOL editor can appear to lose track
    of a syntax error.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Modified COBOL parser to correctly handle syntax errors in
    relevant situations.
