PI94071: COPY FULL NO OF RTS TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSTSS TERMINATES WITH MSGDSNU410I ALTHOUGH THERE ARE CHANGED PAGES

Error description

• After a DB2 maintenance refresh to RSU1703, COPY FULL NO of
  RTS tablespaces (DSNDB06.SYSTSTSS and DSMDB06.SYSTSISS) is no
  longer copied the changed pages and gets:
  DSNU410I DSNUBAII - TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSISS CONTAINED NO
                      CHANGED PAGES
  in spite of the fact that there are changed pages.
  COPY CHANGELIMIT reports the changed pages and recommends
  incremental copy.

  A COPY TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSTSS FULL NO ran to completion
  issuing DSNU410I - TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSTSS CONTAINED NO
  CHANGED PAGES, ending with RC4.  However, a prior COPY
  TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSTSS CHANGELIMIT REPORTONLY reported
  changed pages in MSGDSNU440I.
  
  COPY should not retrieve RTS statistics when the object of the
  COPY is one of the RTS table spaces.  RTS statistics are not
  gathered for these table spaces.  COPY was looking at residual
  RTS data and determined there were no updated pages.
  
  This problem also occurs for COPY CHANGELIMIT on RTS table
  spaces.  Bad RTS statistics were retrieved, but for CHANGELIMIT,
  the statistics are ignored and the path continues on to check
  for changed pages by looking at the space map pages.

Problem conclusion

• COPY code has been modified to not use RTS statistics when
  the object of the COPY is SYSTSTSS, SYSTSISS, or SYSRTSTS
  when determining whether there are any changed pages.
  
  Note:  Since it is not possible for COPY with FULL NO or
  CHANGELIMIT on RTS table spaces to use RTS, the output image
  copy data set will always be allocated.
