PI94024: S0C1 ON EXRL INSTRUCTION WITH ARCH(7)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An EXRL instruction is incorrectly generated for an INSPECT
  TALLYING statement when compiled with ARCH(7) compiler option.
  Since EXRL is an execute extension facility instruction, it
  should only be available on a z10 and above machine.

  While generating code for an INSPECT statement, the compiler
  checked for the wrong minimum ARCH level before generating an
  EXRL instruction (ARCH(8) instead of ARCH(7)).
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was modified to check for the correct ARCH level.
