APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • XAER_RMERR as ipic local failover doesnt get invoked -nosec

The issue is happening in case of two phase commit XA
transaction only.
When the resource adapter is serving a two phase commit XA
request and if the CICSTS region is down then the CICSTG
resource
adapter will get connection refused error.
The CICSTG resource adapter then throws a XAExcpetion for
connection
refused error but will not set the ManagedConnection as dirty.

Local fix

  • application uses the alternative J2C connection after one error

Problem summary

  • Fail over doesn't work when resource adapter is configured with
XA on local mode.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS TG code is corrected for addressing the fail over issue
