  • DSN9016I can occur when installation SYSOPR is used and the SET
    SYSPARM command is issued.
    
    Reported problem was found by running V12 migration job
    DSNTIJOZ.

    * installation SYSOPR authority to issue                       *
    * SET SYSPARM command.                                         *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * When issuing a SET SYSPARM command,                          *
    * a user using the installation SYSOPR                         *
    * authority encountered a DSN9016I                             *
    * UNAUTHORIZED REQUEST error.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply corrective PTF when available                          *
    ****************************************************************
    When a user with installation SYSOPR authority issues a
    SET SYSPARM command, the operation could fail with the
    following message:
    
    DSN9016I -DB2A '-SET SYSPARM' COMMAND REJECTED, UNAUTHORIZED
    REQUEST
    DSN9023I -DB2A DSN9SCND '-SET SYSPARM' ABNORMAL COMPLETION
    
    This is caused by an incorrect check during the SET SYSPARM
    command process.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to correctly check for the
    installation SYSOPR authority when processing the SET SYSPARM
    command.
