Error description

Error Description:
An incorrect pathway was discovered, which results in
OpenJPA
incorrectly inserting an Embeddable object into the L2
Datacache. Since embeddables have no identity of their own,
inserting a null-valued key can result in a
NullPointerException being thrown.

A pathway involving an embeddable with a lazy loaded field may
trigger a pathway in OpenJPA where it incorrectly attempts to
insert a null-key/embeddable-value pair into the datacache.
Though this nonsense data would not be fetched from the
datacache, its insertion can cause NullPointerExceptions in
alternate datacache implementations such as dynacache.

Problem conclusion

The faulty pathway has been corrected, and will no longer
attempt to insert the offending data into the datacache.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack WebSphere 8.5.5.14, WebSphere 9.0.0.8, and WebSphere
Liberty 18.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
