PI92352: IDZ 14.0 - CURSOR NOT PLACED ON FOUND SEARCH STRING RESULTS WHENUSING THE DATA EDITOR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When searching for a string in data sets, the search string
  results are shown in the search results view. Double clicking on
  the result should open up the editor associated to that data set
  and position the cursor on the result line. In the Data Editor
  however there is different behavior than the other editors.
  
  If z/OS mapping is setup such that **DATA is mapped to tdat
  searches will work but not take you to the string found
  z/OS mapping doesn't appear to allow you to map anything else to
  tdat other than **DATA, thus no strings will be found.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When the editor was switched to the z Systems Data Editor from z
   Systems LPEX Editor, a resource property to locate a line
  specified in the remote search result was not initialized.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IDz client was fixed to set the resource property to point
  to a line when the editor was changed from z Systems LPEX Editor
   to z Systems Data Editor.
