PI92272: INCORRECT COMPARE OF POINTER DATA ITEMS

Error description

• When two pointer data items are compared to determine whether
  they are equal, the generated code does not account for the
  high order bit. Resulting comparison leads to incorrect code
  path being taken in the application.

Problem summary

  The compiler was generating an instruction that compared 32
  bits when comparing pointers, regardless of the size of pointer
  used.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was fixed to only compare 31 bits for DATA(31) and
  24 bits for DATA(24) when comparing pointers.
