APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Developer for z systems  (RDZ/IDZ) 14.0.0.5 ifix 1
In COBOL Editor, attempt to "Search text in File" result in no
hits when 'Restrict Search to columns' is set.

IDz restrict it to "end column -1" instead of just end column
set by the user

Local fix

  • Don't use Restrict Search or add 1 in the dedicated End column
field.

Problem summary

  • IBM Developer for z systems: Incorrect result during
'Search Text in File' in COBOL Editor
The length if exact will not find the search string.

Problem conclusion

  • The length checked was changed to correctly correspond to the
total string length.
The search string will be found when the exact column positions
are used.
