APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer reports a problem with stream input files that are
  EBCDIC (JES2 spooled data transferred to CMOD MP) when they have
  records of length 0 and have CCTYPE=A. The problem is that ACIF
  pads with a x'20' which is valid for ASCII data but the
  customer is loading EBCDIC data with CPGID=500. The indexer does
  not currently look at the CPGID to determine how to pad the
  stream data during processing.
  Errors received on the arsacif process include:
  APK346W DATA IN AN INPUT RECORD OR PAGEDEF RESOURCE IS INVALID:
  A SKIP TO A NONEXISTENT CHANNEL = '20'X ON RECORD NUMBER = 465
  TO A NONEXISTENT CHANNEL = '20'X ON RECORD NUMBER = 465 WAS
  DETECTED WITHIN THE LND STRUCTURED FIELDS.  OUTPUT WAS FORCED TO
  SINGLE SPACING, WHICH MAY CAUSE BLANK PAGES.
  APK441I ACIF AT IPTR923 HAS COMPLETED ABNORMALLY WITH RETURN
  CODE 8.
  

Local fix

• Suggest the customer generate their EBCDIC files with a x'25'
  on the FILEFORMAT parm, NEWLINE setting, instead of x'15'.
