PI90551: WHERE AN OBJECT HAS NO OTHER ASSOCIATED OBJECT, DCM RECEIVE WILLSET MODIFY_TIME TO EPOCH ZERO

Rational Synergy Interim Fix 1 for 7.2.1.6

Error description

• Prerequisites
  
  1. Synergy 7.2.1 (can be created with 7.2.1.3)
  2. Three DCM enabled databases. For example - DB_1, DB_2, DB_3
  
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  
  1. Create an object which does not have any other associated
  objects. For example a Change CR with no associated attachment
  or task in DB_1.
  
  2. Create a transfer set to include this CR and transfer it from
  DB_1 to DB_2.
  
  3. In DB_2, query for the newly arrived CR and inspect its
  modify_time.
  
  
  Expected Results:
  
  modify_time should be the modify_time it was in DB_1.
  
  
  Actual Results:
  
  modify_time is set to the timezone equivalent of "Jan 1, 1970,
  00:00" or Epoch Zero.
  
  
  Impact:
  
  If CRs are updated in DB_2 and transferred back to DB_1, there
  is no impact as the modify_time is then updated.
  
  However, if DB_2 is used as hub to transfer objects between DB_1
  and DB_3 but not accessed by users, there can be an impact as
  follows:
  
  a. DB_2 transfers the CR to DB_3.
  b. DB_3 has the modify_time set to EPOCH Zero.
  c. A user then makes a change to the CR thus updating the
  modify_time.
  d. Thereafter, the CR updates are transferred back to DB_2 and
  then to DB_1.
  e. Next, Step C is repeated, and the CR updates are successfully
  transferred back to DB_2.
  
  f. Generating the transfer set on DB_2 to transfer to DB_1 will
  fail because the last_generate time is after the modify_time of
  EPOCH Zero. Therefore no other updates are transferred to DB_1.
  
  This defect was previously logged as APAR PI49249:

  and reintroduced in Rational Synergy 7.2.1.6
