APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When viewing large RPT reports in the Rational Test Control
  Panel (RTCP) web interface, RTCP can run out of memory and
  crash.
  The default Java heap size is not specified in the start scripts
  so it defaults to 512MB.
  
  WORKAROUND:
  
  1. Shut down RTCP
  
  2. Edit the setenv script
      Windows typically: C:\Program
  Files\IBM\RationalTestControlPanel\bin\setenv.bat
      Non-Windows typically:
  /opt/IBM/RationalTestControlPanel/bin/setenv.sh
      Add the preferred memory allocation by adding the -Xmx
  parameter:
  
      SET JVM_ARGS=-Xmx2048m -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
  -Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=false
  
  3. Re-start RTCP

Problem conclusion

• This issue is fixed in version 9.1.1.1 of RTCP as 2GB of memory
