Error description

  • When you have enabled ACLs (access control list) on a Unix/Linux
    Rational ClearCase VOB server, you may find that you are getting
    the following errors when trying to connect from Microsoft
    Windoows clients in an interop environment:
    
    credmap_lookup_whole_string_credentials call failed: RPC: Server
    can't
    decode arguments
    credmap_lookup_whole_string_credentials call failed: RPC: Server
    can't
    decode arguments
    cleartool: Error: Unable to map the local credentials to the
    remote
    credentials: timed out trying to communicate with ClearCase
    remote
    server
    
    This issue occurs in Clearcase 9.0.0.4 and 9.0.1 and later.
    
    The issue does not occur with ClearCase 9.0.0.3 and earlier.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearCase versions 9.0.0.6 and 9.0.1.2
