APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) v14.0.0, code review in
batch does not analyze Enterprise COBOL V5.1 rules.

The same issue can be reproduced with IDz v14.0.0.5

Local fix

  • Use the code review from IDz client:
- create a Software Analysis Configuration and add the
Enterprise COBOL V5.1 rules
- In the COBOL source, right click and select Software Analysis
> <COBOL51> where COBOL51 is the software analysis configuration
created with COBOL v5.1 rules.
- Observe the results in the Software Analyzer Results view

Problem summary

  • The COBOL 5.1 validation code rules do not run in batch software
 analysis on z/OS.

Problem conclusion

  • Corrected a packaging error to get the COBOL 5.1 validation code
 rules running.
