PI86331: FILE MANAGER PLUG-INS FAIL TO PROPERLY SAVE MODIFIED COMPILER OPTIONS IN RD/Z

APAR status

Error description

  • Values entered on the Compiler Options dialog (selected from
    Windows > Preferences > File Manager > Compiler Options) are
    valid for the current RD/z session, but aren't saved for future
    RD/z sessions.
    

Local fix

  • Using the System Information view you can right-click on the
    system you're interested in customizing, and select "Set
    Compiler Options", this information will be saved across
    multiple RD/z sessions.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1 - File Manager/IMS configuration      *
    *                      screen loses template datasetnames      *
    *                      On the templates tab the table is       *
    *                      populated with template datasetnames    *
    *                      from the File Manager/IMS config on the *
    *                      host. The GUI user can add              *
    *                      additional template datasetnames in the *
    *                      fields that follow.                     *
    *                      These user-                             *
    *                      added template datasetnames are lost    *
    *                      when the user's GUI session ends.       *
    *                      2 - Fault Analyzer side file options    *
    *                      entries.                                *
    *                      On the Fault Analyzer Invocation        *
    *                      Options page, side file options         *
    *                      entries populated from the Fault        *
    *                      Analyzer config on the host cannot be   *
    *                      erased in the GUI and user-added side   *
    *                       file data set names are lost when      *
    *                      the user's GUI session ends.            *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Upgrade to the March 2018 release of         *
    *                 z/OS Explorer Aqua 3.1 which will be         *
    *                 available via                                *
    *                 https://developer.ibm.com/mainframe/         *
    *                 products/downloads/eclipse-tools/            *
    *                 Aqua 3.1 includes the latest version 14      *
    *                 of the File Manager plugin.                  *
    *                 This version is backwardly compatible        *
    *                 with V13 servers.                            *

    The z/OS Explorer Aqua plugins were not saving the settings
    between GUI sessions.
