APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • On zOS it is possible to specify a connection token to help
serialize multiple connections to the same queue
manager/queue so that only 1 application at a time
with the same connection can connect. The MQInput
node should gracefully handle the error when a connection is
refused because a MQRC_CONN_TAG_IN_USE return code
is received and sleep an appropriate amount of time before
    re-trying the connect.
Currently the MQInput node is treating this as an error and
    logging an error message:

+BIP2678E (Msg 2/2) MQxxBRK DEFAULT 74 FAILED TO MAKE A SERVER
CONNECTION TO QUEUE MANAGER 'MQxx': MQCC=2; MQRC=2271.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
On z/OS it is possible to specify a connection token to help
serialize multiple connections to the same queue
manager/queue so that only 1 application at a time
with the same connection can connect. The MQInput
node should gracefully handle the error when a connection is
refused because a MQRC_CONN_TAG_IN_USE return code
is received and sleep an appropriate amount of time before
    re-trying the connect.

Problem conclusion

  • MQRC_CONN_TAG_IN_USE errors are now handled appropriately.
A BIP2656 information message is issued and the MQInput node
    waits before re-trying the connect.
