APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • By default, on installation, Big SQL sets the database manager
configuration parameter SYSADM_GROUP to "BIGSQLADM". If this
setting is customised to any other value, installation of
patches will reset the parameter to the default value. As a
result, bigsql start may fail with the following error:

    SQL1092N

The requested command or operation failed because the user ID
does not have the authority to perform the requested command or
    operation. User ID: <user-id>.

Checking the dbm cfg shows that the SYSADM_GROUP has been
    changed to BIGSQLADM.

Local fix

  • Correct the SYSADM_GROUP dbm cfg parameter after patch
    installation.
