PI84938: BIGSQL VERSION 4.2.5 UPGRADE FAILS DURING BACKUP PHASE

Error description

• BigSQL 4.2.5 upgrade fails during the backup phase with the
  following error message:
  INFO: Performing Big SQL engine upgrade readiness check
  ERROR: The Big SQL engine upgrade readiness check failed
  ERROR: Consult the log file
  /var/ibm/bigsql/logs/upgrade-check.log on the
  <nodename> node
  The upgrade-check.log contains an error similar to:
   Version of DB2CKUPGRADE being run: VERSION "11.1"
  Database: "BIGSQL"
  SQL10007N Message "5555" could not be retrieved. Reason code:
  "4".
  DBT5529N The db2ckupgrade utility did not complete
  successfully. The database cannot be upgraded. The output log
  file is named "/var/ibm/bigsql/logs/upgrade-check.log".
  
  This is due to invalid objects in the database.
  

Local fix

• Clean up any invalid objects before upgrading.
  SELECT * FROM SYSCAT.INVALIDOBJECTS will show how many objects
  in the database need to be rebuilt.  Then run
  CALL SYSPROC.ADMIN_REVALIDATE_DB_OBJECTS() iteratively
  until the select from SYSCAT.INVALIDOBJECTS returns no rows.
  Any objects that cannot be revalidated should be dropped.
