Error description

  • When using non alpha numeric characters in a user group name
in a non english language, getting a DGL3820A. The translation
of the characters from UNICODE to EBCDIC and back is not getting
same characters back. Getting a DGL3820A. This started failing
after the upgrade to CM 8.5. As indicated, before CM 8.5, DB2
did the code page conversion. With CM 8.5, the library server
is doing a call to __atoe to convert the value of the user group
and that may be corrupting the values. With this change, we
will let DB2 do the translation to EBCDIC.

Local fix

  • Do not use any none alpha numeric characters in a user group
    name.
