  • Customer is using File Manager copy function 3.3 and receives a
S0C1 abend when copying a GDG sequential dataset to a new file.
Dataset attributes FB / LRECL 375.

*                      length 46 (including quotes) is         *
*                      specified as a From Data Set in         *
*                      copy (DSC) and                          *
*                      the To Data Set does not exist.         *
*                      Additional keywords: AbendS0C1          *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

File Manager incorrectly calculates the length of the
contents of the From Data Set field when a 44
character data set name is supplied, which results in
an ABEND S0C1.

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager is modified to correctly handle the
contents of the From Data Set field when a 44 character
data set name is  supplied.
