Error description

  • CHECK LOB for the DB2  CATALOG/DIRECTORY LOBs are running for
longer time than expected. This is due to no prefetch used
and there is high SYNC I/O.

* CHECK LOB on DSNDB01.SYSSPUXA ran with                       *
* long elapsed time.                                           *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Apply corrective PTF when available.                         *

A CHECK LOB against the catalog table space DSNDB01.SYSSPUXA
ran with a longer elapsed time than expected due to the high
synchronized I/O in the CHECKLOB phase.
The problem happened because no prefetch process was used
for CHECK LOB utility to get the LOB pages.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • CHECK LOB code has been modified to use sequential prefetch to
get the LOB pages.
