Error description

  • NPAGES value in SYSIBM.SYSINDEXSPACESTATS is incorrectly set to
0 after a mass delete. Subsequent updates result in a negative
value.

Local fix

  • Run REORG to correct the NPAGES value.

* Apply corrective PTF when available                          *

After Mass DELETE, following by INSERT,
SYSIBM.SYSINDEXSPACESTATS.NPAGES becomes a
negative value.

Problem conclusion

  • The RTS code in DB2 is modified to correct the conditions
leading to a negative SYSIBM.SYSINDEXSPACESTATS.NPAGES.
