Error description

  • When processing IBM Rational ClearCase command output by piping
the output through other processes, the "cleartool catcs"
command may abort in one or more of the following ways when the
pipe it is writing to is broken:
    - *** Error in `cleartool': double free or corruption (!prev):
    0x0900e898 ***
    - cleartool: Error: PFM_ASSERT:(handler_sigvec[sig-1] !=
    (pfm_signal_t)SIG_DFL) failed: '/vobs/atria/lib/ks/pfm.c':633
    - a generic segfault without any special output.

In the first case, a process memory map will be printed.

Setting MALLOC_CHECK_=0 will suppress the first failure message,
but the core will still occur.

This issue seems specific to the cleartool catcs command, it
does not appear to impact other commands like lsview, lsvob,
    etc.

To reproduce, run the following command:
cleartool catcs -tag {existing view tag} | grep MISSINGPARM -e
    NOTMISSINGPARM | grep -v anotherparm

The middle grep terminates because there is a missing "-e"
    parameter, breaking the pipe.
