* USERS AFFECTED: All users of the IBM Automatic Binary        *
*                 Optimizer (ABO) for z/OS, v1.2.              *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In some rare situations, the input      *
*                      module may contain compiled programs    *
*                      that are too complex for ABO to         *
*                      optimize.  In such cases, ABO may       *
*                      abend with the following message in     *
*                      the OPTERR dataset: Assertion failed    *
*                      at ./BinaryCodeAnalyzer.cpp:1721        *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
*                                                              *
****************************************************************
ABO was modified to successfully optimize these types of
compiled programs.

Problem conclusion

  • ABO no longer abends and successfully optimizes these compiled
programs.
