PI78897: RECOVER UTILITY OF A LIST OF CATALOG TABLESPACES FAILING WITH MSGDSNU537I AND POINTING TO THE WRONG TABLESPACE IN LIST

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The user is recovering a list of catalog objects in DB2 V11 NFM
  using RECOVER utility with LISTDEF .
  He made a mistake and included DSNDB06.SYSTSSTG in the list,
  as this object needs to be recovered separately as mentioned in
  the DB2 manual.
  The RECOVER utility correctly failed with the following message:
  DSNU537I DSNUCAIN - TABLESPACE DSNDB06.SYSTSSRG IS NOT ALLOWED
                      IN THE LIST
  but the name of the tablespace in the message is wrong as it is
  not the one that is not allowed.

  User ran a RECOVER utility on a list of directory and catalog
  objects, including DSNDB06.SYSTSSTG which needs to be recovered
  separately. RECOVER utility issued message DSNU537I -
  'TABLESPACE tsname IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE LIST' on the object
  before DSNDB06.SYSTSSTG in the list.
  The issue occurred because RECOVER was using an incorrect
  index to retrieve the object name.
  

Problem conclusion

• The RECOVER LIST utility has been modified to issue the
  DSNU537I message on the correct object.
