PI78104: ABEND04E RC00E70005 AT DSNXISB6 P010 ON AN ALTER OF AN XML TABLE SPECIFYING A LIMIT KEY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An ALTER of an XML TABLE specifying a LIMIT KEY should not be
  allowed. SQLCODE20183 should be returned instead of abending.
  

Local fix

• Remove the limit key value from the ALTER TABLE ADD PARTITION
  for PBG type XML.

  DB2 did not catch the error scenario of ALTER TABLE ADD
  PARTITION to an XML table properly resulting in the
  above abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 has been corrected to catch the error scenario and issue an
  SQLCODE -20183 properly instead of abend.
  
  A new reason/explanation will be added to the SQLCODE -20183 as
  follow:
  
  - The ADD PARTITION clause must not be specified for an
  implicitly created XML table that is defined with range
  partitioning.
