PI76532: COMPILE LISTING OFFSETS FOR VARIABLE LRCL SEQUENTIAL FILES NOT SAME IN CBL V5.2 CAUSES COMPUWARE XPEDITER PRODUCT ISSUES

Error description

• Compuware Xpediter does not map the fields in variable records
  correctly due to the differences in offsets printed by the V5.2
  compiler.

  *                 compiler option and using the MAP output in  *
  *                 the compiler listing.                        *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect compiler listing: Data Map    *
  *                      does not reflect the correct            *
  *                      displacement or element in a variable   *
  *                      length records SORT file.  The user     *
  *                      data in the record starts at four       *
  *                      bytes from the start of the record.     *
  *                      But the Data Map does not reflect       *
  *                      that.  The record displacement starts   *
  *                      at zero.                                *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  When compiling a program with the MAP compiler option.  The
  data map show user data of a variable length SORT record
  starting at displacement zero.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was modified so the data map of a variable length
  SORT file shows the user data starting at four bytes from the
  beginning of the sort record.
