Error description
In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.5, parsing of DD statements with a DSN name containing the "EXEC" qualifier is incorrect. 1- create a JCL like: //USER1821 JOB , // MSGCLASS=H,MSGLEVEL=(1,1),TIME=(,4),REGION=144M,COND=(16,LT) //COPYSTEP EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01 //INMVS DD DSN=USER182.PMRS.EXEC(HELLO),DISP=SHR //OUTHFS DD PATH='/u/user182/hello.cbl', // PATHDISP=(KEEP,DELETE), // PATHOPTS=(OWRONLY,OCREAT,OEXCL),PATHMODE=(SIRUSR,SIWUSR) //SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=* //SYSTSIN DD * OCOPY INDD(INMVS) OUTDD(OUTHFS) TEXT CONVERT(YES) PATHOPTS(USE) /* 2- Observe that EXEC has a different color than USER182.PMRS 3- Select and right-click on Hello 4- Observe that context menu does not show options to open/view/browse the member. 5- Replace EXEC by COBOL and context menu appears and Hello can be view/open/browse.

Problem summary
In the z/OS Explorer JCL editor, DD statements where the data set name contains 'EXEC' may incorrectly display the 'Open/View/Browse JCL procedure' actions on the context menu rather than the 'Open/View/Browse Member' actions.
Problem conclusion
The z/OS Explorer JCL editor has been updated to only display the 'Open/View/Browse JCL procedure' actions on EXEC statements. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.4 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
