Error description

• A stateful record type with a reference to a stateless record
  which contains a reference list to another stateless. (e.g
  Defect -reference-> Project -ref list-> Products)
  When retrieving the values of that list (Products) in hook code
  or when the values are retrieved in a list box on the form, but
  the first reference (Project) has no value, the following error
  is thrown:

  CRVSV0078E Error from RPC server: CRVSV0751E Server error:
  Unexpected exception: CRMUD0082E Execution of a hook failed
  during the action Assign. It was the ACTION_INITIALIZATION hook
  attached to the Defect "SAMPL00000004". The reason for the
  failure was: CRMUD0207E The value of field "Product" is not
  available since it was not included when record
  "AdEntity@0x113be2c0,dbid=0,id='0'" was partially loaded. at
  main::Defect_Initialization line 13.

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearQuest 8.0.1.14 and 9.0.0.4.
  ClearQuest was not properly handling the case of a null
  reference in a fieldpath when getting a field value.  This
  problem has been fixed.
