Error description

• Attempts to run an action to a record which is enabled ClearCase
  ClearQuest UCM Integration results in CRMCU0087E error. The
  symptom is seen on ClearQuest Web on AIX with
  Zh_CN(Zh_CN.GB18030) locale but not limited to.
  
  Error message example (translated):
  Error from RPC server: The attempt to save the record failed;
  got: CRMUD0082E Execution of a hook failed during the action
  (action name). It was the ACTION_COMMIT hook attached to the
  (record-type name) "(record-id)". The reason for the failure
  was:
  CRMCU0087E String contains characters that are not in local code
  page, "UNIX client". The string is "?????间".
  The following characters are invalid:
  U+5b9x at 1
  U+964x at 2
  U+7edx at 3
  U+675x at 4
  U+65fx at 5
  There are 1 additional invalid characters in the string.
  
  Details:
  CRVAP0075E Execution of a hook failed during the action (action
  name) ServerDeliverChangeContext. CRVSV0078E Error from RPC
  server: CRVSV0999E The attempt to save the record
  failed; got: CRMUD0082E Execution of a hook failed during the

Local fix

• No workaround available.
  In a similar case, setting Unicode Aware on ucm_base_synchronize
  hooks can bypass a similar error. However, it is appropriate
  only for workaround until official fix is released.

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearQuest 8.0.1.14 and 9.0.0.4.
  ClearQuest was using the wrong default locale when executing
  actions on ClearCase / ClearQuest UCM records.  This problem has
  been fixed.
