Error description
In some cases when DFHDPLOY utility with DEPLOY BUNDLE command fails, the BUNDLE definition is not removed from BAS. If this appears several times, the version number of the BAS resource definition is incremented up to the limit of 15 and all BUNDLE definitions must be removed manually.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Using DFHDPLOY to deploy a BUNDLE resource leaves behind a * * BUNDLE definition in the CICSPlex SM Data Repository if the * * deploy fails. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * . * **************************************************************** When you use the DEPLOY BUNDLE command in DFHDPLOY without specifying RESGROUP or CSDGROUP, a resource definition is created using Business Administration Services (BAS) for the duration of the deployment and deleted after the artifact reaches its specified target state. In certain scenarios where the BUNDLE deployment fails, it is expected that the temporary resource would be removed from the CICSPlex SM Data Repository, but this does not always occur. . If this failure occurs many times, the following message may be produced: DFHRL2307I Unable to install BUNDLE(bundlename). The definition version limit has been reached. DFHRL2055I Errors have occurred, processing terminated. . Note, this APAR also addresses a problem with the DFHDPLOY Kanji messages that have spanned multiple lines and not been created with a continuation character. This leads to rc-3 messages issued by DFHDPLOY if REXX system tracing is set to normal. . Additional keywords: msgDFHRL2307 RL2307
Problem conclusion
DFHDPLOY has been updated so that the temporary BAS resource definition will be deleted following soft failures in a DEPLOY BUNDLE command. This APAR will also deliver a change to correct the badly formed DFHDPLOY Kanji messages that spanned multiple lines.
