*                      access with reverse index scan          *

SQL statement has aggregate function and group by. The table is
partitioned and DB2 is using index only access path. During the
retrieval of data via the index only access, incorrect output
is returned when different index partitions are scanned.

When scanning in the reverse direction within a partitioned
index and at the same time skipping non-distinct values, valid
index keys could be missed when a previous index partition is
accessed.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Code within DB2 has been modified to correctly begin scanning
within the previous partition for qualifying keys, when
index key skipping is active and reverse index scan is used.
