Error description

• Querying SAP ECC fails with Auto Group and Summarize enabled
  The error situation varies depending on the IBM Cognos BI/
  Analytics release.
  
  For example a current_date calculation can cause this error,
  seen in 10.2.2 FP5
  
  Error message returned by the report:
  XQE-GEN-0005 Found an internal error:
  java.lang.NullPointerException
  

Local fix

• For IBM Cognos BI 10.2.1.x/ 10.2.2:
  
  (a) For more simple list reports:
   - Disable Auto Group and Summarize for the report query.
   - Explicitly group data items in report layout.
   - Use Group Span to align other data items to your groupings
  where needed.
  
  (b) In case of 'current_date' and if it's required for display
  purposes only a singleton might be sufficient to display
  'current_date'.

  For IBM Cognos Analytics:
  Depending on your release level the above workaround(s) could be
  implemented.
  Otherwise do not group your data.
