Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z - RDz
Service Flow Modeler (SFM) Screen Operations Editor does not
display all next screens in Outline view

If you add a changed BMS screen into an existing SFM by doing
a BMS merge/import then the UUIDs may get changed.

If the UUID is changed then the outline view will no longer
correctly display all of the next screens.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
USERS AFFECTED: Rational Developer for System z users of the
    Service Flow Modeler tooling.
    ****************************************************************
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a user Imports a BMS map into an
existing Terminal subproject, and that BMS map matches existing
screen messages in the subproject, the uuid stored in the
existing screen messages will be overwritten, therefore making
obsolete any Screen Operations files referencing those old uuid
values. This requires new Screen Operations to be recorded
whenever a new field is added to a BMS map.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • ****************************************************************
Problem Resolution: A new default option has been added to the
last page of the Import BMS wizard in the Service Flow Modeler
tooling. This new option is labeled Update Screens. The new
option will preserve the previous uuid value in the existing
screen messages that match by name the BMS map being imported.
This will allow screen messages to be updated when a BMS map is
updated and allow previously recorded Screen Operations to
    continue to be used.
